New home construction activity slowed in November from the month before according to the report on new home construction activity from the Commerce Department.? On the bright side, new home construction is up significantly from a year ago which, even though a year ago the numbers were at near record lows, it?s still an improvement.
New Home Construction Numbers for November, 2012:
- Permits for new single family homes were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 565,000 homes, a 0.2 percent decrease from October and a 25.3 percent increase from November 2011.
- New single family starts were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 565,000 homes, a 4.1 percent decrease from October and a 22.8 percent increase from November 2011.
- New single family home completions were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 520,000 homes, a 2.4 percent decrease from October and a 14.3 percent increase from November 2011.
